Personal Advisor – 3 Month Contract (Care Leavers Service)
Based in Peckham, London (Hybrid – 3 days in office + community-based work)
Full-time | 3-month contract
Competitive daily/hourly rate (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of care leavers? Do you believe every young person deserves the right support, opportunities, and guidance as they transition into adulthood?
We are looking for a committed and compassionate Personal Advisor to join our dynamic team on a 3-month contract. You’ll play a key role in ensuring Looked After Children and Care Leavers (aged 18-25) have every opportunity to thrive and move confidently into independent adulthood.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Building trusting, meaningful relationships with care leavers through regular visits and consistent support.
  • Developing and reviewing SMART goals with young people as part of their Pathway Plans.
  • Providing practical, emotional, and professional advice that is responsive to each individual’s needs and aspirations.
  • Collaborating with a wide range of statutory and non-profit services to ensure positive outcomes around education, employment, training, safeguarding, and housing.
  • Recording your work in a timely, strengths-based, first-person approach.
  • Traveling to visit young people both in and out of Southwark as needed.

What we’re looking for:
  • A passionate individual who believes care leavers deserve the best support and opportunities.
  • Experience working with young people in a statutory or community-based setting.
  • Strong organisational skills, and a commitment to co-production with young people.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of care-experienced young adults.

Why join us?
  • Be part of a forward-thinking, young-person-centred team committed to transforming outcomes.
  • Work from our Peckham-based office (Peckham Rye Station nearby), while spending much of your time making a difference out in the community.
  • Supportive environment with a strong ethos of team collaboration and professional development.
If you’re ready to be a trusted adult in a young person’s life — someone who shows up, listens, and empowers — we want to hear from you.
Apply now and help shape brighter futures for Southwark’s care leavers.
