Personal Advisor – Leaving Care Team
📍 North East England | ⏳ 6-month contract (with potential extension) | 🕓 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday


About the Role
An experienced and compassionate Personal Advisor is required to join a Leaving Care Team within a local authority in the North East.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people leaving care, supporting them as they move toward independence and adulthood.
You’ll provide a comprehensive service in line with the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and associated legislation. Working alongside social workers, partner agencies, and support services, you’ll help young people achieve positive outcomes in education, employment, housing, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a high-quality Personal Advisor service to care leavers aged 16–25.
  • Develop, implement and review individual pathway plans to support independence.
  • Provide practical, emotional, and advocacy support to young people.
  • Liaise effectively with internal and external agencies to meet identified needs.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Leaving Care Service.
About You
You’ll be passionate about supporting young people and helping them reach their potential. You’ll bring excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Essential requirements:
  • NVQ Level 4 Care Qualification (or equivalent) or working towards.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Experience supporting young people or care leavers in a professional setting.
  • Strong planning and record-keeping skills.
