Are you an experienced Personal Advisor, Leaving Care Worker, Support Worker or Children’s Services professional who is passionate about helping care-experienced young people build successful, independent futures?

We’re looking for an experienced Personal Advisor to join a busy Leaving Care Service in Nottingham, supporting young people as they transition from care into adulthood.

? The Role You’ll manage a caseload of approximately 24 young people, providing practical, emotional and person-centred support to help them achieve positive outcomes and develop the skills they need for independent living.

Your work will include:

  • Supporting care leavers with their transition into adulthood and independent living
  • Managing a caseload and developing, reviewing and implementing Pathway Plans
  • Supporting young people with housing, education, employment, health and wellbeing
  • Building trusting and positive relationships with young people
  • Carrying out visits and providing practical and emotional support
  • Working closely with partner agencies and other professionals
  • Supporting safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing relevant documentation
  • Participating in the service duty function
? What We’re Looking For You’ll ideally have experience working with:

? Children in care or care leavers
? Young people transitioning into adulthood
? Vulnerable young people or those with complex needs
? Multi-agency services and safeguarding

You’ll also need:

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A person-centred approach
  • Strong organisational and case-management abilities
  • Good written and record-keeping skills
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team
  • A willingness to travel for regular home visits across Nottingham and the surrounding area
No formal qualification is required — relevant experience supporting children, young people or care leavers is the key requirement.

? Working Pattern This is a hybrid role, combining office-based working, visits to care leavers and home/remote working where appropriate.

? Location: Nottingham
? Hours: 37 hours per week, 9am–5pm
? Contract: 21 September 2026 – 18 December 2026 initially, with potential for extension

? Make a Difference This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Leaving Care Service where your work can have a genuine impact on young people's lives — helping them move from care towards stability, independence and a positive future.

If you have the experience and passion to support care-experienced young people, I’d love to hear from you.
