Plumber – Responsive Repairs
Location: Southampton

You will be carrying out a wide range of construction and property maintenance activities across the Southampton City boundary, working within occupied properties and liaising directly with residents.

You will be carrying out a wide range of construction and property maintenance activities across the Southampton City boundary, working within occupied properties and liaising directly with residents.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Undertake fault-finding, diagnosis, and on-site problem solving to accurately determine the scope of works required, working with speed and precision and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Deliver a standard and volume of work consistent with that of an experienced and competent Plumber, with the flexibility to adapt and undertake tasks outside of the core trade to enable completion in a single visit wherever practicable, including:
- Patch plastering / artex / rendering
- Wall and floor tiling
- Worktops and kitchen units
- Excavations
- Painting and decorating
- Making good brickwork
- Minor carpentry works
- Guttering
- Minor electrical works
- Provide reasonable estimates of time and materials (when requested) to complete tasks, orders, or projects within strict timescales.
- Plan, measure, and organise work efficiently to minimise waste of materials.
- Correctly interpret design plans, drawings, specifications, and written instructions to ensure work is completed to the required standard.
- Undertake plumbing works as part of the Responsive Repairs service
- Carry out small works in other trade disciplines where required
- Deliver high-quality property maintenance and repairs
- Liaise daily with residents, colleagues, and peers
- Maintain a strong customer-focused approach
- Practical understanding of the construction / property maintenance industry (essential)
- Experience in property maintenance (desirable)
- Ability to multi-task and work across minor additional trade disciplines
- Strong communication skills
- Confident, reliable, and self-motivated approach
