Police Staff Investigating Officer

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for ex-police officers to work as Police Staff Investigating Officers (PSIO's) to work on a long-term, full-time contract at multiple locations across the West Midlands.

Locations include:
Coventry
Perry Barr
Oldbury
West Bromwich
Edgbaston

The role is paying £26.52p per hour (Umbrella) and is a full-time contract.
The role involves a 60/40 hybrid working policy, which is implemented once training has been completed.
Applicants must be PIP2 accredited, and be able to pass through Police Vetting checks.

Duties:

• Collect and gather evidence, recording and retaining material from a range of sources in an evidentially admissible format.
• Identify, assess and tailor engagement with child victims to ensure evidence is collected appropriately and proportionately to meet investigative objectives.
• Interview witnesses, victims and suspects in accordance with PIP2 standards, progressing enquiries and generating further lines of enquiry where required.
• Complete risk assessments and share information to support multi-agency decision making (including strategy meetings), ensuring appropriate safeguarding and victim support throughout the investigation.
• Signpost victims/families to additional support services and explain criminal justice processes where required.
• Analyse and evaluate material from investigations to develop evidential opportunities, support offender management, and reduce the risk of further offences.
• Ensure exhibits/material are seized, examined, retained and recorded in line with legislation and policy.
• Prepare investigation updates and reports, and manage case files to maintain accurate records and a clear audit trail.
• Initiate multi-agency discussions where no further criminal proceedings are anticipated, to assess and manage ongoing risk.
• Contribute to MAPPA processes as required, including providing offender updates and maintaining accurate records.

Essential experience:

• PIP2 accredited
• Recent investigative experience
