Principal Social Care Solicitor

Service Care Solutions is working with a well-regarded local authority in Devon that is looking to appoint a Principal Social Care Solicitor to their in-house legal team. The primary specialisms for this post will be Childcare Law, with Adult Social Care Law as a secondary area of focus. 

Role: Principal Social Care Solicitor
Location: Local Authority – Devon – hybrid
Umbrella Rate: £60 - £70ph
PAYE Inc Holiday Rate: £52.79 - £61.49ph
Contract Length: 4 months ongoing
 
The Role:
The legal service is currently undergoing a period of structural change, and this role will be key in providing stability, leadership, and direction during a time of transition.

• Providing high-quality legal advice to Social Care team.
• Offering guidance and supervision to the social care team on complex and high-profile cases.
• Play an active role in strategy and legal planning within the team. The primary focus will be Childcare Law, with Adult Social Care Law as a secondary focus.

What the council is looking for:

• A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with substantial experience in public law social care matters.
• Previous local authority experience is highly desirable.
• Must have exceptional people management skills and have experience of managing a team in a recent role.
• Have a well-established presence in the Devon social care legal sector.
