About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Officer to join Action for Children, a non-profit organisation on a 3-month contract. This is a home-based role offering the opportunity to contribute to all stages of the tender and procurement process within a dynamic organisation.
As their Procurement Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient and effective procurement practices, maintaining compliance, and managing supplier relationships. You will work collaboratively across functions and support the organisation in achieving best value through professional procurement standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all stages of the tender procurement process, including documentation, advertisement preparation, contract award, and ongoing contract management.
- Apply professional procurement practices and keep abreast of developments in the field.
- Capture and analyse key performance data to inform supplier performance.
- Produce accurate, timely reports for managers and budget holders, monitoring compliance and spend.
- Maintain the central register of contracts and databases for suppliers and contractors.
- Influence effective and efficient procurement practices across the organisation.
- Build and manage effective relationships with suppliers across a range of goods and services, demonstrating strong negotiation skills.
- Work collaboratively across teams while maintaining the ability to work independently.
- CIPS qualified (Level 3 or equivalent)
- Experience working in the Third Sector or Public Sector
- Experience and understanding of formal procurement exercises
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- Experience in procurement and/or supply chain management within complex organisations
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly grasp new procedures
- High professional standards and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide advice and guidance on procurement matters
- Experience developing and applying procurement strategies
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently
