Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a Housing Client in the North East, supporting the commercial management and delivery of planned investment and asset programmes across their housing stock.

This is a client-side Quantity Surveying role, working closely with the Commercial/Programme Manager and wider Asset & Property team to ensure effective financial control, contract administration and value for money across construction programmes.

The Role:
  • Manage day-to-day Quantity Surveying and contract administration duties across planned investment and asset programmes.
  • Undertake valuations, variations, payment certification and final account processes.
  • Support procurement and tendering, including preparation and review of tender documentation and pricing schedules.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, cashflow and contractor performance.
  • Attend site regularly to inspect works, assess progress and monitor commercial performance.
  • Assist with developing scopes of work and schedules of works.
  • Identify and manage commercial and operational risks.
  • Work closely with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered effectively.
  • Attend pre-start, progress and partnership meetings, providing commercial advice and support.
  • Analyse financial and asset/stock condition information to support investment decisions.
  • Contribute to improving commercial processes and systems across the Asset & Property function.
About You:
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying degree, Chartered status or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector.
  • Strong experience across contract administration, procurement, valuations, variations, final accounts and cost control.
  • Experience managing significant construction budgets and monitoring commercial performance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with contractors and wider construction professionals.
  • Social housing, residential, planned maintenance or refurbishment experience would be highly beneficial.
  • Previous client-side Quantity Surveying experience is desirable, although candidates from strong contractor or consultancy backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading housing organisation and play a key role in the commercial delivery of planned investment and asset programmes across the North East.
