Job Title: Reablement Enabler
Location: Islington (with travel across the borough)
Salary: £24 UMB (£18 PAYE)
Contract: Initially 3 months
Hours: 25 hours per week - hours between 16:00 and 21:00
About the Role:
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Reablement Enablers to join our dynamic Adult Social Care team. This is a physically demanding role that requires resilience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping people regain their independence.
You’ll work directly with individuals in their homes and community settings to deliver tailored reablement support, guided by each person’s Reablement Plan. You’ll play a vital role in empowering people to live as independently as possible, while ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and dignity are maintained at all times.
Please note:
You must be willing and able to travel across the team’s geographical area. Flexible working is essential to meet the needs of the service — this may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight support as part of our Enhanced Reablement offer.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care and support in line with the person’s individual Reablement Plan, following a strengths-based approach.
- Carry out reablement interventions that promote independence and positive outcomes.
- Identify and report any safeguarding concerns immediately in line with Council policy.
- Apply the principles of the Care Act 2014 in all areas of your work.
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers, families, and professionals to manage risk and support personal choice.
- Support with medication management in line with NICE Guidelines (NG67) and the Reablement Service Medication Policy.
- Assist with nutritional needs and specific dietary requirements as outlined in support plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and legible records of all reablement visits and activities.
- Provide regular updates on progress toward reablement goals for multidisciplinary review.
- Adhere to Council policies regarding personal property, money handling, and key security.
- Report any changes in wellbeing or health promptly to the duty manager or emergency services.
- Maintain excellent infection control standards at all times.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings, supervision, and ongoing training.
- Use information technology systems effectively to record and report work.
- Work in line with Islington Council’s CARE values and Adult Social Care principles.
- Promote equality, dignity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, Health & Safety, and other relevant policies.
- Undertake other duties as required, commensurate with the role.
