- Oversee the day-to-day running of a busy, multi-bedded children’s home
- Provide strong, motivational leadership to the care team
- Manage staff rotas, budgets, and operational performance
- Take ownership of recruitment, interviewing, and ongoing staff development
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted standards and maintain excellent inspection outcomes
- Prepare and submit SC2 (Schedule 2) registration forms
- Lead by example during challenging or high-risk situations
- Create a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for young people
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Previous Ofsted registration experience and involvement in inspections
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing children’s residential services
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, LAC frameworks, and regulatory compliance
- Proven competence in rota planning, budget management, and service oversight
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience in high-risk or therapeutic residential settings
- A strong track record of improving Ofsted ratings
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills
