Registered Manager – Ofsted Regulated Children’s Home
Location: Ilford, East London
Full Time | Permanent | On-Call Requirement
Salary: Up to £60k per annum
Working on behalf of a well established care company, We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential service in Ilford. This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care and achieving strong Ofsted outcomes, while ensuring the home operates safely, compliantly, and successfully.
This opportunity is ideal for a confident leader who combines strong childcare practice knowledge with operational and commercial awareness.
About the Role:
As Registered Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the children’s home. You will ensure the service delivers excellent outcomes for children and young people while maintaining full regulatory compliance and a positive, high-performance staff culture.
You will work closely with senior leadership and external stakeholders to maintain quality, grow the service, and build a strong reputation locally.

Key Responsibilities
Quality & Safeguarding
- Lead and manage an Ofsted-regulated children’s home
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Home Regulations
- Maintain high safeguarding standards and an open, transparent culture
- Drive person-centred care and positive outcomes for children and young people
- Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement activity
- Aim to achieve and maintain Ofsted ratings of Good or Outstanding
- Lead, coach and develop the staff team
- Create a high-performance, child-focused culture
- Ensure safe staffing levels and effective workforce deployment
- Manage staff performance, supervision, and development
- Participate in the management on-call rota
- Ensure the financial viability and sustainability of the home
- Manage referrals, enquiries, and placements
- Build strong partnerships with local authorities and professionals
- Promote and represent the service positively in the Ilford and wider London area
- Contribute to service development and growth
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and company policies
- Maintain accurate records and reporting standards
- Handle confidential and sensitive matters appropriately
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care within the last 5 years
- At least 1 year in a staff management or supervisory role
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or working toward it within required timescales
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and inspection frameworks
- Experience leading teams and managing a children’s residential setting
- Experience with safeguarding and quality standards
- Strong leadership and people management skills
