Registered Manager – Children’s Residential EBD Home

We are currently recruiting a Registered Manager for a small EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) children’s home located in the Preston area. Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential EBD Home As the Registered Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the children’s home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, and sustaining a safe, caring environment for the young residents. This role requires a dynamic leader who can motivate staff, build strong relationships with external agencies, and uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and care.

Candidate Responsibilities for the Registered Manager Role:
  • Take full accountability for the home's operations and regulatory compliance
  • Lead, support, and develop a team of residential staff to deliver person-centred care
  • Ensure care plans are tailored to individual needs, fostering positive outcomes and growth
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and professional practice
  • Prepare and manage budgets efficiently, optimising resources for young people's benefit
  • Build and sustain excellent relationships with local authorities, social workers, and external professionals
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the home maintains a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating
Candidate Profile for the Registered Manager:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (NVQ Level 5) – essential
  • Proven experience within a children’s EBD residential setting, ideally as a Registered Manager or senior leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards
  • Deep understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • A child-centred approach with excellent motivational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
