Are you a passionate and experienced leader with a drive to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people?
Staffordshire Council are seeking an exceptional Registered Manager to lead one of their Children’s Residential Homes, providing high-quality, therapeutic care and ensuring every young person has the opportunity to thrive.

About the Role As Registered Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of a residential home supporting children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. You’ll lead a committed team, promote a nurturing and safe environment, and ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking authority that truly values innovation, compassion, and high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate and develop a skilled team to deliver outstanding care and support.

  • Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards.

  • Oversee care planning, placement stability and outcomes for young people.

  • Manage budgets, staffing, and performance effectively.

  • Promote a culture of reflection, respect and continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

  • Proven experience managing or deputising in a children’s residential setting.

  • Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks and safeguarding legislation.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

  • A genuine commitment to improving young people’s lives.

Why Join Staffordshire Council?
  • Be part of an authority that invests in its staff and prioritises outcomes for children.

  • Work within a supportive, values-driven culture that celebrates good practice.

  • Excellent training, career development and progression opportunities.

  • The chance to make a tangible, lasting impact every day.

If you’re an inspiring leader ready to take the next step in your residential care career, we’d love to hear from you.
