A client within the Public Sector based in the East Midlands is currently recruiting for a Repairs and Maintenance Manager to join their Housing Commercial Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a repairs, maintenance, or housing services environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is support the Capital Works Manager in developing and implementing a modern, effective, customer-focused, and high-performing property maintenance and improvements service.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Being responsible for the Responsive Repairs Team and all related functions, ensuring effective, efficient service delivery to high standards, with particular focus on disrepair, damp and mould, and complex repairs.
• Managing the commercial delivery of day-to-day property repairs to tenanted homes, voids, and other assets under relevant contracts.
• Ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory and statutory requirements relating to the service.
• Applying strong knowledge of H&S legislation and CDM regulations to ensure works are delivered safely and compliantly.
• Managing a high-performing team including team leaders, chargehands, operatives, administrative staff and partnering contractors.
• Assisting with the development of quotes, tenders and bids to expand the service into wider markets.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• A recognised construction/property qualification (e.g. HNC/HND in Construction, Building Surveying, or equivalent).
• A Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely.
• Experience managing responsive repairs within social housing or local government.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary maintenance teams.
• Knowledge of disrepair, damp and mould legislation and best practice.
• Experience with contract management, procurement and performance improvement.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £44 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £35 per hour PAYE).
