- Providing day-to-day care and support in line with care and placement plans.
- Acting as a positive role model, using restorative and relationship-based practice.
- Supporting children both in the home and in the community, including outreach and family work.
- Encouraging educational, social, and emotional development, while advocating for full-time education or training.
- Promoting health, wellbeing, and independent living skills to prepare young people for the future.
- Maintaining accurate records, safeguarding young people, and ensuring all policies and regulations are followed.
- Contributing to team development, training, and continuous improvement.
About You We are seeking individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people to thrive. You will need:
- Experience of working with children.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A commitment to high standards of care and positive outcomes for young people.
- An understanding of Children’s Home Regulations and the Children Act 1989 (or willingness to develop this).
- The ability to work flexibly as part of a team and engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and anti-discriminatory practice.
- Level 2 English and Maths.
- Willingness to achieve Level 4 Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) within 2 years of appointment.
- Contract: Permanent, full-time (37 hours)
- Pension: Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme or the option to arrange your own approved scheme.
- Training & Development: Ongoing professional development, including therapeutic parenting and restorative practice.
