Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home (Liverpool)

We are seeking an experienced Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Liverpool. This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) offered on an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. It’s an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

About the Role

• Based in a GOOD Ofsted-rated children’s home in Liverpool
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people
• Support their day-to-day needs, including education, health, wellbeing, and social development
• Build positive, trusting relationships to help young people process their life experiences and develop aspirations for the future
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to ensure safeguarding and best outcomes
• Contribute to the smooth running of the home, following policies and procedures

Essential Requirements

• Direct experience of working in a residential children’s home setting
• Strong skills in direct work with children and young people
• Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People / Residential Care / Social Care (or equivalent)
• Current enhanced DBS check
• Ability to work flexible hours on a 3-week rotating shift pattern (including weekends, evenings, sleep-ins, and waking nights)

Typical Shift Patterns

• Monday – Friday:
  
  • 7:30am – 3:00pm
  • 2:30pm – 10:00pm
  • Sleep-in: 11:00pm – 7:00am
  • Waking night: 9:30pm – 8:00am
• Weekends:
  
  • 7:45am – 10:00pm
  • Sleep-in: 11:00pm – 7:30am
  • Waking night: 9:30pm – 8:00am
