Job Description
Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Leicestershire for a Revenue Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will be required to play a key role in financial reporting, audit support and statutory returns within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to external audit queries, coordinate audit sampling requests, and provide timely supporting documentation
• Complete key financial reconciliations and review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by other finance teams to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Support the production of quarterly revenue monitoring reports, providing insightful financial analysis and commentary
• Lead the preparation and submission of the Whole of Government Accounts return, ensuring deadlines and reporting standards are met.

Candidate Criteria

• Qualified accountant, or QBE with relevant financial experience within a local government environment.
• Proven experience supporting external audits, completing reconciliations, and preparing statutory or management financial reports.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across finance teams and manage competing priorities.
