Job Title: Roofer

Location: Islington

Rate: £24 per hour

Hours: 08:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

Primary Job Function To support the delivery of high-quality repairs, ensuring decent and suitable housing by working as part of a team carrying out roofing and related maintenance works. The role includes responsive, planned, and capital repairs across all LBI-managed properties and social spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out roofing and associated trade duties on various types of repair work
• Manage workload efficiently to meet appointments and service targets
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and planners about delays or issues
• Keep accurate records and update job progress using a PDA or mobile device
• Maintain imprest stock and ensure responsible use of tools, materials, and equipment
• Request and organize materials needed for both standard and non-standard jobs
• Supervise and mentor apprentices/trainees as required
• Comply with all safety, equipment, and procedural regulations

Vehicle Use

• Drive and maintain a company vehicle in line with LBI Drivers Policy
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and maintain cleanliness

Requirements

• Experience in roofing and general property maintenance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to health and safety practices
• Familiarity with mobile working systems (e.g., PDA)
• Valid driving licence (for roles requiring vehicle use)
• Strong communication and organization skills
