  • Offer advice on mental health, wellbeing, personal safety, online safety, and healthy relationships.

  • Help learners develop skills to stay safe, confident, and resilient.

Supporting Colleagues:

  • Act as a first point of contact for safeguarding queries.

  • Support consistent safeguarding practice across sites in partnership with the Study Programme Manager.

  • Collaborate with Early Help and other external agencies.

  • Support referrals and contribute to ongoing plans and meetings.

  • Always act in the learner’s best interests.

Recording & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate, timely safeguarding records using CPOMS or other systems.

  • Ensure records reflect observations, actions taken, and ongoing support needs.

Education, Intervention & Prevention:

  • Support awareness campaigns, interventions, and wellbeing initiatives.

  • Contribute to a positive safeguarding culture that is proactive, supportive, and inclusive.

Professional Practice:

  • Keep up-to-date with safeguarding legislation and best practice.

  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and safe working practices.

  • Engage in supervision, reflective practice, and professional development.

What We’re Looking For Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Experience working directly with young people in education, training, youth, or support settings.

  • Experience supporting mental health, wellbeing, and personal safety.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and legislation for post-16 learners.

  • Excellent attention to detail for maintaining safeguarding records.

  • Strong, compassionate communication and ability to manage sensitive situations calmly.

Desirable:

  • Youth work, pastoral, or safeguarding-related qualifications.

Values & Behaviours:
