The Opportunity We’re working with a public sector organisation in the Wolverhampton area who are looking for an experienced SAR Officer to hit the ground running and support a busy information governance function.

This is a hands-on, operational SAR role with a strong technical focus, particularly around redaction. If you’re confident managing complex Subject Access Requests from start to finish and know your way around sensitive data, this is a cracking opportunity.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing end-to-end Subject Access Requests in line with GDPR and Data Protection legislation
  
  
• Handling high-volume and complex SAR casework
  
  
• Carrying out detailed and accurate redaction of sensitive and third-party information
  
  
• Reviewing, collating and disclosing information within statutory deadlines
  
  
• Working closely with internal services to obtain and quality-check data
  
  
• Ensuring decisions are compliant, defensible, and clearly documented
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in technical and operational SAR casework
  
  
• Strong redaction skills – this is essential
  
  
• Solid understanding of GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and information governance
  
  
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  
  
• Excellent attention to detail and confidence handling sensitive information
  
  
• Local authority or public sector experience is highly desirable
