Are you passionate about making a real difference for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Cheshire East Council is looking for a dedicated SEND Keyworker to join our SEND Team.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate person-centred, outcome-focused assessments and support plans for children and young people with SEND.
- Manage a caseload of children with EHCPs, ensuring annual reviews are completed and plans updated.
- Act as the main point of contact for schools, colleges, specialist settings, and families, building strong, collaborative partnerships.
- Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, analysing professional advice to make clear and outcome-focused recommendations.
- Represent the Local Authority at mediation and appeals, including First Tier Tribunals.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to families, enabling them to make informed choices and access appropriate provision.
- Monitor outcomes, track progress, and review provision to ensure that the needs of children and young people are fully met.
- A graduate-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Education, Social Work, Health, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, statutory frameworks, and child-centred assessment and planning.
- Experience of working with children and young people with SEND in education, local authority, health, or related settings.
- A track record of successful partnership working with schools, agencies, families, and young people.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills with the ability to manage a demanding caseload.
- Flexibility and commitment to ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
