Location: Remote (with flexibility to work across the local authority area if needed)
Contract: Initially 6 months, full-time
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £250 per day (Umbrella)

About the Role

A local authority is seeking an experienced SEND Key Worker to join their EHC Assessment & Planning Team. This role is crucial in supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing person-centred support and helping families access the right services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND.
  • Coordinate and facilitate assessments and develop outcome-focused EHC plans.
  • Conduct annual reviews in line with statutory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, social care, and health professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records, data, and documentation in line with policies and procedures.
  • Identify, negotiate, and coordinate support packages, including personal budgets where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, SEND Code of Practice, and relevant policies.
Person Specification
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND or disabilities.
  • Knowledge of SEND legislation, statutory EHC processes, and safeguarding requirements.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multi-agency teams.
  • NVQ3 or equivalent in education, social care, child care, or a related discipline (or willingness to undertake).
