Location: Castle Gresley (Derbyshire)
Client: Derbyshire County Council
Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: Full time (37 hours per week) – (06:45 – 14:45) or (14:00 – 22:15)
Salary: £12.22 per hour (PAYE) / £15.66 per hour (Umbrella)

To coordinate a team response and provide personal care and support to individuals with complex and challenging needs, enabling them to have choice and control over their lives. The role focuses on improving independence, enhancing quality of life, and promoting health and wellbeing.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Role model best practice in person-centred care
- Organise services to meet client needs through direct provision and advice
- Undertake regular reviews and individual risk assessments
- Liaise with health, community, and emergency services to support clients
- Deliver personal care, domestic tasks, medication, and health-related activities
- Support clients’ social and emotional needs and maintain independence
- Respond to emergencies and coordinate with relevant agencies
- Champion dignity and respect for all clients
- Complete accurate records in line with departmental procedures
- Ensure safeguarding of vulnerable adults and maintain confidentiality
- Experience caring for others (work-based, voluntary, or personal)
- Understanding and empathy for the needs of vulnerable people
- Knowledge of person-centred care principles
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and national guidance
- Knowledge of specialist equipment and professional support networks
- Experience with dementia care (desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow routines and monitor changes in client condition
- Ability to develop and motivate staff
- Flexible approach to shifts (days, nights, weekends, bank holidays)
- Ability to build trust and confidence with clients and groups
- Competence in risk assessment and independent decision-making
- Fluent English for effective communication
- QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care (essential)
- QCF Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent (to be attained post-appointment if not held)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to Equality, Health & Safety, and safeguarding policies
