Senior Care Team Leader – Residential Care (Dementia Focus) - Temporary role

Salary: £22 Per hour UMB
Contract Type: 21 Hours per week, 3 month contract

In this important role, you'll take the lead in ensuring our residents receive the highest quality of care, while also supporting, supervising, and guiding care staff on shift. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the home during your shift as duty officer, ensuring a safe, caring and well-managed environment.
- Oversee and support care staff with supervision, handovers, and training to maintain high standards of care.
- Manage medications — ordering, administering, recording and returns in line with best practice and regulations.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with staff, residents, families and professionals.
- Prioritise workload and delegate tasks through effective allocation of duties and staff rotas.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and Infection Prevention and Control standards.
- Assist with documentation, including writing reports, sending letters, and updating care plans and records.
- Confidently use email, Word and Excel to complete administrative duties and maintain accurate records.
- What We’re Looking For
- Minimum QCF (NVQ) Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
- Proven experience working in a residential care home setting for older people living with dementia.
- Good working knowledge of CQC standards and inspection frameworks.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise effectively.
- Experience in managing staff rotas, shift allocations and team supervision.
- Flexible to work on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Confident in using basic IT systems (e.g. email, Word, Excel).
- Strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.
