Senior Contracts and Procurement Solicitor

Service Care Solutions are currently working with a Local Authority in Bedfordshire who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Contracts & Procurement Solicitor on a part-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with strong local government, commercial contracts and procurement experience to join the Council's legal team and provide high-quality legal advice across a varied and complex caseload.

Location: Bedfordshire/Hybrid
Working Pattern: Part-time – 20 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £50–£65 per hour Umbrella - PAYE (including holiday pay): £44.45–£57.79 per hour
Contract: 3 months rolling
 
Responsibilities as a Senior Contracts and Procurement Solicitor:

• Provide professional and commercially focused legal advice and support to Council departments and external clients on a range of complex commercial contracts and procurement matters.

• Manage a varied caseload of complex commercial contracts and procurement matters, advising on and preparing documentation to a high professional standard.

• Draft, review and negotiate bespoke and standard-form contracts relating to the supply of goods, services and works.

• Provide advice across a range of areas including construction, IT, engineering, social services, education and public health.

About you as a Senior Contracts and Procurement Solicitor:

• A qualified solicitor with relevant post-qualification experience.

• Strong experience in commercial contracts and procurement law.

• Previous experience working within a Local Authority or public sector legal environment is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation and governance requirements.
