Service Care Legal are working with a London borough council who are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join its legal services team. This senior role will play a vital part in supporting the authority’s work by delivering high-quality legal advice and guidance on a broad range of contractual and procurement matters.
ROLE: Senior Contracts & Procurement Lawyer
LOCATION: East London
RATE: £50-55ph LTD (£48.46ph PAYE inc. holiday pay, £43.24ph PAYE exc. Holiday pay)
CONTRACT: 36 hours per week, initial 3 months with possibility of extension
Please note that this would require office attendance once per week.

- Provide expert legal advice on local government contracts and procurement law.
- Lead on drafting, negotiating, and advising on complex contractual documentation.
- Advise clients on procurement processes in accordance with legislation and regulations.
- Handle a varied caseload with significant levels of responsibility.
- Offer supervision and support to a junior contracts lawyer.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) or equivalent.
- Substantial experience in contracts and procurement law, ideally within local government.
- Strong understanding of public procurement rules and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a wide-ranging workload with minimal supervision.
