A client within the Public Sector, based in Wigan, is currently recruiting for a Senior Surveyor to join their Property Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority property and asset management environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role:
To contribute to the effective delivery of the Council’s Asset Management Planning, Estates Management, and Valuation functions, supporting the Council’s vision of “Confident Place – Confident People.” The post holder will lead the delivery of key estate management responsibilities, including disposals, acquisitions, valuations, and the management of the commercial property portfolio.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Lead the implementation of the Corporate Asset Management Plan and Service Asset Management Plans.
• Manage the disposal of land and property assets declared surplus to the Council’s requirements.
• Oversee the acquisition of property interests to support corporate projects.
• Provide asset valuations for revenue and capital purposes.
• Manage the commercial and non-commercial property portfolios.
• Conduct property reviews and feasibility studies to optimise the use of Council property.
• Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and business cases to senior management and committees.
• Work collaboratively with service departments, external partners, and stakeholders to deliver property solutions.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:
MRICS qualification or an equivalent qualification in Estate, Asset Management, or Valuation.
• Proven experience in the valuation and management of land and property, including disposals and acquisitions.
• Experience working at team leader or middle management level within a local authority or similar setting.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively about opportunities.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills, including presenting to committees or panels.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team and manage competing priorities effectively.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £325 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £250 per day PAYE).
