The Role: Senior Family Support Worker As a Senior Family Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering early help, strength-based interventions, and safeguarding support to children, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities You will:

  • Act as Lead Professional for a varied and complex caseload.

  • Undertake high-quality assessments using a common assessment framework.

  • Develop and coordinate multi-agency intervention plans, working closely with statutory and non-statutory partners.

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes and promote safety and well-being.

  • Provide specialist knowledge as a practice champion (e.g., domestic abuse, substance misuse, disability, parenting).

  • Chair planning and review meetings, escalating concerns when necessary.

  • Maintain excellent case recording and documentation in line with professional standards.

  • Participate in training, audits, supervision, appraisal, and service development.

  • Support GR3 staff delivering single-agency interventions.

  • Work as a Designated Safeguarding Professional, promoting robust safeguarding practice.

  • Contribute to hub duty responsibilities and occasionally work outside standard hours.

  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of service delivery.

About You Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • GCSE-level education and NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in a relevant field.

  • Experience delivering evidence-based interventions with children and families.

  • Competence in assessing children’s needs and formulating effective support plans.

  • Proven experience working in multi-agency partnerships.

Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to recognise, escalate, and record safeguarding concerns in line with policy.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills, including chairing meetings and managing your workload effectively.

  • Analytical ability to assess risk, identify strengths, and plan appropriate interventions.

  • A commitment to professional learning, reflective practice, and continuous development.
