The Role As Senior Housing Solutions Officer, you will:
- Carry out detailed assessments of applicants’ housing circumstances.
- Provide tailored advice and support to resolve housing difficulties.
- Make clear, lawful decisions in line with the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
- Oversee and quality-check casework, providing sign-off where required.
- Deputise for the Housing Solutions Manager when needed.
- Support the delivery of the Council’s Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Strategy.
About You The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong working knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, particularly Part 7.
- Experience of homelessness prevention, housing advice, and statutory assessments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A team-focused approach, with the ability to motivate and support colleagues.
- Confidence in handling complex cases and making robust, defensible decisions.
- Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home).
