Senior Practitioner Adults Southampton
Are you an experienced senior professional with a background in adult social care, particularly within learning disabilities and neurodiverse teams? We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Practitioner Adults to join our dynamic team on a 3-month contract. As a Senior Practitioner Adults, your role will be vital in supporting the Team Manager and supervising staff to deliver exceptional care. You will take on both operational and managerial responsibilities, including line managing qualified and unregistered staff, chairing safeguarding and best interests meetings, providing expert practice advice, and managing a small complex caseload. Your expertise in adult safeguarding, mental capacity, and care legislation will ensure compliance and quality standards are met at all times.

Candidate Responsibilities – Senior Practitioner Adults
- Support the Team Manager in day-to-day operations and team oversight
- Line management of qualified and unregistered staff
- Chair safeguarding and best interests meetings with confidence
- Provide practice advice, guidance, and reflective supervision to staff
- Handle a small, complex caseload alongside managerial duties
- Ensure compliance with the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver person-centered support
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of learning disabilities and neurodiverse needs
- Proven experience in adult social care, specifically with learning disabilities and neurodiverse populations
- Experience working within Southampton City Council is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Care Director systems and internal policies
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding, Care Act, and Mental Capacity Act
- Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced setting
- Confident in chairing meetings and offering reflective supervision
- Competitive pay rate 35LTD inclusive of holiday pay or £25 PAYE exclusive of holiday pay
- Initial 3-month contract with potential to extend
