Senior Property Lawyer

Service Care Legal are working with a North London Council who are seeing a Senior Property Lawyer to join their team on a contract basis. Please find below further details with regards to this position.
 
JOB ROLE:          Senior Lawyer – Property
LOCATION:         North London
RATE:                   £60-65ph umbrella / £57.16ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £51.00ph PAYE Exc. holiday pay
CONTRACT:        3 months with possibility of extension, 36 hours per week


Please note that this role would require office attendance 2 days per week.
 
Job Description
 

• Lead on complex commercial property, regeneration, and new build schemes, including drafting and advising on high-value development agreements
• Provide senior-level legal advice to members, committees, and senior officers on property, planning, and regeneration matters
• Manage a busy caseload of high-risk/strategic matters and support major corporate and cross-departmental projects
• Supervise junior lawyers (up to 2 FTE) and deputise for the Chief Lawyer where required

 
Person Specification
 

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx with strong experience in local authority commercial property and regeneration work
• Proven ability to handle complex development projects (including new builds) and advise senior stakeholders
• Previous experience of working within a public sector organisation would be essential for this role.
