Senior Property Solicitor

Service Care Solutions is currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in Cumbria who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Commercial Property Solicitor to join their legal services team on an initial 3-month rolling contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified legal professional with strong commercial property experience to provide high-quality legal advice and support across a broad range of local authority property matters.

Location: Cumbria – Hybrid Working
Contract: 3 Months Rolling
Rate: £65–£70 per hour Umbrella
PAYE (including holiday): £57.75–£62.19 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal advice and support in relation to a broad range of commercial property matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial leases, licences, easements, agreements and other property documentation.
• Advise on acquisitions, disposals, development, regeneration and land transactions.
• Support the Local Authority with complex property and land matters, ensuring transactions are progressed efficiently and effectively.
• Manage a varied and complex caseload, prioritising work in line with Council requirements and deadlines.

About You

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with significant post-qualification experience in commercial property.
• Strong experience handling complex commercial property and land matters.
• Previous Local Authority or public sector legal experience would be highly advantageous.
• Excellent knowledge of commercial leases, acquisitions, disposals, development and property transactions.
• Able to manage a busy and varied caseload with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to a range of internal clients.
