Make a Real Difference to Children in Care Are you an experienced Senior Social Worker ready for your next rewarding contract? We are recruiting on behalf of Bradford Council for skilled practitioners to work across Children in Care services.
Successful candidates will be interviewed and placed into a suitable team based on experience and service need, as determined by Service Managers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking authority committed to improving outcomes for children and young people.
About the Role As a Senior Social Worker within Children in Care, you will manage complex caseloads, lead on permanency planning, and deliver high-quality, child-centred practice. This role offers hybrid working, with flexibility balanced against service and team requirements.
This 13-month contract provides stability, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work within supportive and experienced teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans
- Manage and lead complex cases involving children in care
- Progress permanency planning, including long-term placements and court work where required
- Work effectively within multi-agency partnerships (education, health, safeguarding, legal services)
- Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced social workers
- Maintain accurate, high-quality case recordings in line with statutory requirements
- Ensure all interventions promote safeguarding, stability, and positive long-term outcomes
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children’s Services
- Strong background in Children in Care or safeguarding teams
- Confident managing complex cases and court proceedings
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Flexibility to attend the office when required
- Competitive rate: £35 LTD inclusive of holiday pay or £28.11 PAYE exclusive of holiday pay
