About the Role: Senior / Team Leader – Children's Residential

The Senior / Team Leader – Children's Residential will play a pivotal role within the care team, supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and consistent care for young people. You will lead by example, foster a positive environment, and ensure that care practices uphold safeguarding and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior / Team Leader – Children's Residential

• Leading and supporting the residential team during shifts
• Acting as a positive role model for staff and young people
• Building trusting relationships with children and young people
• Supporting young people with emotional, behavioural, and social needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and managing challenging situations effectively
• Supporting care plans, risk assessments, and placement plans
• Maintaining accurate records and daily documentation
• Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed
• Mentoring and developing team members
• Collaborating closely with the Registered and Deputy Managers
• Taking responsibility for the home and team when required to maintain high standards of care and compliance

Candidate Requirements for the Senior / Team Leader – Children's Residential

• Proven experience working with children or young people in a residential setting
• Experience supporting young people with complex or challenging behaviours
• Previous Senior Support Worker or Team Leader experience
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Confident leadership and team support skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Calm, consistent, and resilient approach
• Commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people
• Relevant Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care or willingness to work towards one
