You’ll be working alongside experienced Social Workers and professionals, providing vital support to vulnerable children and families while playing an important part in safeguarding, assessments and achieving positive outcomes.

The Role As a Social Work Assistant, you will provide essential support to Social Workers and the wider Children's Services team.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting Social Workers with allocated casework.
• Working directly with children, young people and families.
• Providing practical and emotional support to vulnerable families.
• Gathering and recording information to support assessments and interventions.
• Maintaining accurate, timely and high-quality case records.
• Preparing reports and updating management information systems.
• Supporting safeguarding and child protection processes.
• Working closely with professionals across education, health, police and other partner agencies.
• Attending meetings, reviews and supervision sessions.
• Helping ensure that the safety, wellbeing and voice of the child remains central to all work undertaken.

What We're Looking For We're keen to hear from candidates with experience supporting:

• Children and young people
• Vulnerable families
• Children's Social Care services
• Safeguarding and child protection
• Family support or early intervention services
• Other relevant Social Care settings

You'll also need:

?? Strong communication and interpersonal skills
?? The ability to build positive relationships with children and families
?? Experience maintaining accurate records and case notes
?? A good understanding of safeguarding principles
?? Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload
?? A compassionate, proactive and child-centred approach
