🔑 Key Responsibilities & Outcomes
- Carry out statutory duties within relevant legislative frameworks on behalf of Bristol City Council.
- Practice in accordance with Social Work England (SWE), the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF), and Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) for Adult Social Workers.
- Manage a workload appropriate to your level as an experienced social worker, balancing eligibility, risk, prioritisation, and available resources.
- Undertake strengths-based assessments to identify outcomes and determine personal budgets.
- Develop and review outcome-focused support plans that adapt to changing needs.
- Complete robust risk assessments, taking appropriate action where safety or liberty is at risk.
- Apply safeguarding adults procedures, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Care Act 2014 principles.
- Promote creative, cost-effective use of community assets, universal services, and technology-enabled care.
- Contribute to supervision and development of social care staff and students.
- Provide specialist input and promote best practice in areas such as:
- Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Mental Health (Amendment) Act 2008
- Care Act 2014
- Safeguarding Adults procedures
- Ensure information sharing complies with Data Protection legislation, GDPR, and safeguarding protocols.
- Apply advanced knowledge of legislation, policy, and evidence-informed practice.
- Undertake additional specialist roles (e.g. AMHP, Best Interest Assessor, Practice Assessor), including rota participation and continued CPD where agreed.
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualifying experience in Adult Social Care
- Strong working knowledge of hospital discharge pathways
- Confident decision-maker in complex risk and safeguarding situations
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and partnership-working skills
- Commitment to person-centred, strengths-based practice
- Competitive £32 per hour rate
