About the Role
Merton Council is seeking an experienced and committed Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children, young people, and their families.

Merton Council is seeking an experienced and committed Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
You will deliver high-quality social work services in line with the policies and objectives of the Children, Schools & Families department, ensuring the safeguarding and promotion of welfare remains at the heart of your practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and families within the CWD service
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of need and risk
- Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to individual needs
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver effective interventions
- Ensure appropriate resources are identified and utilised to safeguard children
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements
- Promote positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families/carers
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Proven experience working with children and families, ideally within a CWD setting
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures
