About the Role
Working on behalf of Southend on Sea Borough Council, We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join their Children and Families team. In this role, you will provide professional social work services, including therapeutic assessments, case planning, and review of care packages. You will advocate for children and families, prepare case reports, and work collaboratively across multi-agency teams to ensure the best outcomes for children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for children, families, and partner agencies.
  • Conduct therapeutic assessments and develop care plans.
  • Plan, execute, and review social work practice with children and families.
  • Prepare and present case conference reports.
  • Review and manage care packages, ensuring they meet children’s needs.
  • Maintain key performance indicators and ensure timeliness of reports and assessments.
  • Analyse new cases and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Contribute effectively across multidisciplinary teams and agencies.
  • Uphold practice policies while committing to continual professional learning.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience advocating for children, families, and agencies - min 2 years
  • Experience providing therapeutic assessments to children.
  • Strong case management and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to conduct initial and core assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of informing and advising clearly.
  • Versatile and collaborative approach to working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of social work policies, procedures, and best practice.
