Stock Condition Surveyor – Hampshire based Local Authority
£27 PAYE / £34 per hour (Inside IR35)
Full-time – Monday to Friday
Temporary assignment (approx. 6 months)
Start date: ASAP
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor to support a South Coast local authority during a period of increased operational demand within its Property Services team.
The council manages a Housing Revenue Account (HRA) portfolio of over 3,000 council houses and flats, including general needs housing, older persons accommodation, and temporary accommodation. Due to regulatory pressures and service demand, the authority is undertaking a programme to ensure the individual condition of all HRA properties is accurately recorded.

Responsibilities
- Undertake stock condition surveys across the council’s HRA housing portfolio
- Accurately record property condition data in line with current standards and internal requirements
- Identify and record HHSRS hazards, defects, and compliance-related issues
- Input survey findings using digital surveying technology and systems
- Provide clear, concise survey records to support future maintenance and investment planning
- Work closely with the Property Services team to support service priorities and statutory requirements
- Ensure surveys are completed efficiently, consistently, and to a high professional standard
- Proven experience undertaking stock condition surveys within a social housing or public sector environment
- Strong building surveying knowledge with the ability to identify defects and compliance issues
- HHSRS qualification and practical experience applying the system
- Confident and competent in the use of digital survey tools and mobile technology
- Enthusiastic, conscientious, and able to work independently across a dispersed housing portfolio
- Able to meet productivity targets while maintaining accuracy and data quality
