I’m currently working with a respected housing provider who is seeking a compassionate and dependable Supported Housing Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis for an initial 12-week assignment. The Role:
You will be based onsite, providing hands-on support to residents and working closely with Supported Housing Officers to deliver a high-quality housing service. Key responsibilities include:
- Welcoming new residents and supporting them to settle in smoothly
- Conducting regular wellbeing and health & safety checks
- Identifying support needs and signposting residents to appropriate services
- Assisting with low-level ASB, queries and complaints
- Monitoring contractors and ensuring communal spaces remain safe and well-maintained
- Reporting repairs and helping residents understand their tenancy responsibilities
- Upholding safeguarding principles and attending multi-agency meetings where required
- Supporting compliance actions including fire safety and gas access
- Assisting with void preparation and lettings procedures
- Working collaboratively with internal teams, external partners and care providers
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience delivering customer-focused support within social housing or social care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of the needs of vulnerable residents
- Ability to work professionally with multiple agencies
- Solid IT skills, including basic MS Office
- An Enhanced DBS
- NVQ2-equivalent literacy and numeracy (essential)
