Teaching Assistant (1:1 & General Class Support) Location: Central Preston
Contract: 6 months (with potential for extension)
About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school located in the heart of Preston. This is a 6-month opportunity to make a real difference - supporting both individual pupils on a 1:1 basis and providing general class support as part of a collaborative teaching team.

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school located in the heart of Preston. This is a 6-month opportunity to make a real difference - supporting both individual pupils on a 1:1 basis and providing general class support as part of a collaborative teaching team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs (e.g., SEN, SEMH, or learning delays), helping them engage with learning and social development.
- Assist the class teacher in the delivery of lessons, preparing resources and adapting materials where necessary.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
- Support group activities, classroom management, and behaviour strategies.
- Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals when needed.
- Offer pastoral support, helping children build confidence and independence.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar.
- Experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis, especially those with additional needs (desired but not essential).
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain one).
- Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification preferred (but experience also valued).
