? About the role We are looking for a passionate and experienced Team Leader to join a children's residential care home in Leyland, supporting young people aged 11–18.

This isn't simply a role where you'll oversee a shift. You'll play a key part in creating a safe, supportive and homely environment where young people can build trusting relationships, develop life skills and achieve positive outcomes.

Working closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you'll help lead the day-to-day running of the home, support staff development and ensure that young people receive consistently high-quality care.

You'll also have the opportunity to deputise for the Deputy Manager, giving you valuable experience and exposure to the wider management of a children's residential service.

? What you'll be doing As Team Leader, you'll be responsible for:

• Supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
• Leading, supervising, coaching and supporting residential care staff
• Allocating duties and managing staff deployment across shifts
• Supporting recruitment, induction, training and professional development
• Managing performance and providing constructive feedback
• Building positive, trusting relationships with young people
• Supporting young people with challenging behaviours and complex situations
• Helping develop, implement and review individual care plans
• Ensuring care plans, risk assessments, reports and records are accurate and professionally maintained
• Promoting safeguarding and acting immediately on any concerns
• Supporting young people individually and within groups to develop relationships, behaviour and life skills
• Liaising with families, schools, social care professionals and other agencies
• Attending meetings, panels, conferences and court proceedings where required
• Supporting budgets, petty cash and financial procedures
• Helping maintain a safe, welcoming and well-run home
• Deputising for the Deputy Manager when required

? What we're looking for We're looking for someone who can lead from the front and who genuinely understands what it takes to support young people in residential care.

You'll ideally have:

? Experience working with young people aged 11–18 within a residential social care setting
? Previous supervisory or team-leading experience
? Experience managing conflict, challenging behaviour and sensitive situations
? Experience supporting and motivating young people both individually and within groups
? A strong understanding of safeguarding and child care legislation
? Knowledge of child development and the complexities of group living
? Experience using de-escalation and behaviour management strategies
? At least a Level 3 qualification in Children's Social Care or a related youth qualification
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? The confidence to make informed decisions and lead by example
? The ability to support and develop other members of staff
? A genuine motivation to work with young people who may display challenging behaviour

A qualification or training in management/team leadership would be desirable.

? Important requirements Due to the nature of the role, you must be willing to:

• Work a 24/7 rota, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, nights and sleep-ins
• Undertake lone working and on-call duties where required
• Provide cover at other children's residential homes when necessary
• Complete an Enhanced DBS check
• Provide evidence of relevant qualifications
• Hold a full driving licence, preferably with no endorsements
