Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join the Family Support Team (FST) within Wrexham County Borough Council's Children's Social Care Service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and innovative manager who is passionate about safeguarding children, supporting families, and leading high-performing social work teams to deliver positive outcomes.

About the Role As Team Manager, you will lead a dedicated team consisting of:

• 15 Social Workers
• 3 Social Care Assessors
• 3 Assistant Team Managers

The Family Support Team works with children and families who are open to Children's Social Care and is responsible for:

• Care and Support Plans
• Providing robust support to children and families
• Managing Child Protection Plans
• Public Law Outline (PLO) processes
• Taking cases through to the first court hearing
• Ensuring children are safeguarded and supported to achieve the best possible outcomes

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership, supervision and management oversight
• Support and develop staff to maintain high standards of practice
• Ensure assessments, plans and interventions are completed to a high quality
• Oversee safeguarding and child protection processes
• Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, policies and procedures
• Drive performance and continuous service improvement
• Promote positive outcomes for children and families

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Care Wales registration
• Significant experience within Children's Social Care
• Previous Team Manager or Assistant Team Manager experience
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and court proceedings
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills
