Team Support – Children’s Social Care Directorate: Children & Family Services

Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority for a Team Support professional to join the Children’s Social Care Service. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills, a proactive approach, and a passion for supporting frontline services that work with children and families.
About the Role As a key part of the Children’s Social Care Service, you will provide high-quality administrative and service support to designated teams. Your work will help ensure that the service runs efficiently and effectively, supporting the Council’s wider vision and commitment to excellent public service.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for telephone and reception enquiries, providing a professional message-taking service.
- Organise meetings and provide accurate note-taking when required.
- Produce documents using templates, typed materials from handwritten notes, and audio dictation.
- Handle incoming and outgoing post, photocopying, collating, and dispatching documents.
- Maintain filing systems and ensure information is stored and retrieved efficiently.
- Access, input and retrieve information using manual and computerised systems.
- Maintain up-to-date records, files, lists, and databases.
- Undertake research and assist in producing reports, statements, and statistical summaries.
- Provide flexible administrative support across the service as directed.
- Support the promotion of equality, modernisation, and a ‘one council’ approach across the service.
- A good standard of education.
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing tasks.
- Understanding of basic Health & Safety.
- A commitment to equality of opportunity (Equality Act 2010).
- Confidence in carrying out all spoken aspects of the role in English.
- 27 days annual leave, rising to 32 after five years’ service (pro rata for part-time).
- Local Government Pension Scheme or option for personal pension.
- Six-month probation period.
- DBS clearance required.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
