The Role:
You’ll be delivering a responsive and effective technical support service, ensuring IT systems run smoothly so staff can carry out their work with minimal disruption. You will:
- Act as a first point of contact for IT queries via phone, email, and self-service.
- Log, prioritise, and manage incidents through to resolution.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Carry out hands-on fixes including installs, upgrades, and configuration.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine checks on PCs, printers, and peripherals.
- Support the organisation’s infrastructure including VDI, servers, telecommunications, and Microsoft environments.
- Maintain knowledge base articles, FAQs, and documentation.
- Uphold SLAs and provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Experience in a first or second line technical support role.
- Strong understanding of desktop operating systems, Active Directory, networking principles, and standard hardware builds.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters in a user-friendly way.
- High attention to detail and a genuinely customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a busy IT team.
- ITIL knowledge or Microsoft certifications (MCP/MCSA/MCSE) are desirable but not essential.
- Some travel between sites may be required.
- Participation in rota cover (8am–6pm) and occasional paid overtime may be expected.
- You must be able to lift and handle IT equipment when needed.
