Job Description
Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Leicestershire for a Treasury and Financial Strategy Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will support the Financial Strategy and Treasury Manager to prepare the policies and strategies for asset financing, ensuring these are in accordance with and supporting other strategic plans and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the execution of major treasury decisions at the best rates, minimising credit exposure and other risks.
• Ensure that day to day borrowing and investment decisions are taken in line with policy.
• Support the preparation of forecasts for Council spending and income, including sensitivity analysis.
• Support the Financial Strategy and Treasury Manager to prepare the Council’s general fund budget and medium-term financial strategy for approval.

Candidate Criteria

• Qualified accountant with significant experience in local authority finance.
• Experienced in treasury management, financial strategy, budgeting, or financial planning within a complex organisation.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and produce accurate forecasts.
• Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and present financial information clearly to a range of audiences.
