Responsibilities As a Locum Urgent Care Doctor, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients presenting with urgent primary care conditions.
- Delivering high-quality face-to-face consultations within Urgent Care Centres.
- Managing acute illnesses, minor injuries, and undifferentiated patient presentations.
- Making appropriate referrals to secondary care, community services, and specialist teams where required.
- Providing safe, evidence-based prescribing in line with local formularies and clinical guidelines.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurses, Care Coordinators, and Emergency Department colleagues.
- Supporting patient streaming where appropriate between Urgent Care and Emergency Department services.
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Delivering safe, patient-centred care while meeting service performance standards.
- Providing clinical advice and support to other healthcare professionals where required.
- Competitive hourly rates of £80–£100 per hour.

- Previous experience working within Urgent Care, Out of Hours, Emergency Medicine, or Primary Care.
- Confident managing a broad range of urgent primary care presentations independently.
- Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and patient-centred consultation skills.
- Experience using Adastra is desirable.
