About the Opportunity
Service Care Solutions is excited to recruit a dedicated Youth Justice Service (YJS) Case Manager to join the London Borough of Sutton’s forward-thinking and supportive Youth Justice team. This is a meaningful role where you will directly support vulnerable children and young people, helping them reduce offending behaviour, stay safe and achieve improved life outcomes.
Key Responsibilities As a YJS Case Manager, you will act on behalf of the Local Authority, fulfilling statutory duties under youth justice legislation and representing the service in professional forums, including court. Your role will be central to delivering high-quality, child-centred interventions.
You will manage a varied caseload of young people subject to statutory court orders, out-of-court disposals and diversion schemes. Core tasks include:

You will manage a varied caseload of young people subject to statutory court orders, out-of-court disposals and diversion schemes. Core tasks include:
- Completing robust, timely assessments and producing reports for court and panel meetings.
- Delivering tailored interventions rooted in evidence-based practice.
- Working collaboratively with families, carers, professionals and community organisations.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings such as CIN reviews, case conferences and Team Around the Family meetings.
- Ensuring the child or young person’s voice is always recognised, recorded and used to inform decision-making.
- Maintaining accurate electronic case records in line with local procedures and statutory timescales.
- Taking part in duty rotas, team meetings, audits and quality assurance activity.
To excel in this role, you will bring a combination of professional expertise, strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting young people in challenging circumstances.
Essential requirements include:
- A relevant degree (Social Work, Criminal Justice, Probation, Youth Justice) with professional registration where required.
- Understanding of legislation, policy and research relevant to youth justice.
- Ability to analyse risk, apply professional curiosity and create effective plans.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work by risk and need.
- Confidence working autonomously while contributing positively to team culture.
- Strong written communication skills and experience producing high-quality professional reports.
- Proficiency in electronic case recording systems and IT tools.
