Hours: 37 per week, 5 days on / 3 days off (10am–6pm)
Contract: Until 31 March 2026
DBS: Enhanced DBS required

About the Role
We are seeking a Youth Justice Keyworker to support young people in police custody at Worthing Custody Suite. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact at critical moments in young people’s lives, helping them and their families access the support they need to turn their lives around.
You’ll provide direct guidance, advocacy, and practical interventions, working with challenges such as substance misuse, housing, education, and employment. Using a trauma-informed and multi-agency approach, you’ll help prevent offending and reoffending, while promoting positive change.

What You’ll Do
- Support young people and families in crisis, providing practical help and advocacy.
- Carry out assessments and create effective support plans.
- Work in partnership with police, schools, health, and voluntary agencies.
- Ensure the voice of the child is central to all decisions and interventions.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding procedures.
What You’ll Need
- Relevant qualification (degree preferred) or experience supporting families/young people in challenging situations.
- Experience working with families in crisis and/or young people at risk of offending.
- Strong communication, crisis management, and assessment skills.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet family and shift pattern needs.
- Valid driving licence and Enhanced DBS.
