Rate: £33.73 (Umbrella)

We’re looking for an experienced Youth Justice Officer to join the Islington Youth Justice Service on a fixed-term basis. You’ll play a vital role in supporting young people in the justice system, ensuring statutory orders are delivered effectively, and promoting positive outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a complex caseload of children and young people, including high-risk cases.
- Complete AssetPlus assessments and prepare high-quality reports for court.
- Represent the Youth Justice Service at Youth and Crown Court (including occasional weekend/holiday sittings).
- Develop and deliver tailored intervention plans to reduce re-offending.
- Work in partnership with multi-agency teams to support young people in the community or custody.
- Provide safeguarding, restorative justice opportunities, and structured support for those on bail or remand.
- Minimum 2 years’ statutory Youth Justice experience.
- Qualified Social Worker or Probation Officer (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of court processes and youth justice legislation.
- Skilled in working directly with high-risk young people and their families.
- Confident in risk assessment, report writing, and partnership working.
